I have a piece of music going through my head that I can't locate anywhere but is appropriate for something coming up. The words are (approximately)
"Water of new birth (life?) flow over us, wash us clean again, make us your own, quench, O quench our thirst, refresh us and save us"
tune to the first line is D E F A G, crotchets on DEFA, semi-brieve on G.
Can anyone shed any light on where I might find this? I know its not the world's most comprehensive description!
Water of new birth

Thanks John and Scholastica. Just went straight to it in Ritual Moments.
I didn't look there as I was convinced it was a tune I'd known for years, and have only had that book a few months!
I think that's one of the secrets of good writing- make the tune one that people think they already know, even if they don't.

Contemplator
I'm glad someone else has discovered the Contemplator. Some of the MIDI is a bit heavy, but there's loads to hear, and all in the public domain.
Finding a tune I knew and loved already was a good incentive to use Alan Smith's Agincourt Sanctus. The tune is perfect for the words.
Although the above is from Baptised With Fire, this leads me to ask how many people are using what music from the composers' group?
Some super pieces are to be savoured there, especially when the assembled group is so amazing at sight singing/playing. How much of it goes further?
