The Liturgy Office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales has released psalm texts from the new Lectionary Volume 1 (Sundays and major feast days).
The new Lectionary uses the Abbey Psalms (2020), a revision of the Grail Psalms (1963) already familiar to us. While the text of the psalms has been available for some time, the precise verses and the responses are only now available.
Composers wishing to set the revised texts are invited to email the Liturgy Office of the Catholic Bishops Conference of England & Wales at liturgy.office@cbcew.org.uk They will be sent the texts and the Lectionary for Mass: A Guide for Composers which provides information about the Lectionary and setting the texts. The following information should be provided:
- Name
- Publisher name, where applicable
- Diocese
- Email address
- Phone number
- Request for any texts not included in Volume 1
