The editor of the PMM newsletter is Fr Mark Hartley, who is based at Mt St Bernard Abbey. At his request I sent a detailed report of the PMM meeting at Douai to him. He is now mulling this over with an eye to possible modifications.

Re: SSG Annual Conference
This thread is wandering from my original intention ..... which is AN INVITATION TO BE IN THE CHOIR for the event.
Would you like to sing this?

Re: SSG Annual Conference
Just to let everyone know that we are not the only event taking place at St Chad's in the middle of the day. Our episcopal Mass is being celebrated at noon and notice of another episcopal (indeed, Patriarchal) Mass at 1.30 pm has just been received. Saint Chad's car park is not huge. If you are driving in order to come for the lecture - but not the Mass - please use the street parking facilities or the NCP opposite (expensive). Birmingham traffic wardens are very assiduous in their duties so keep the meters topped up.
Launch of the Charity “Friends of the Holy Land”
Over recent months a new Charity in England and Wales has been established to help the Christian Community in the Holy Land. This Charity, called the “Friends of the Holy Land”, sets out to raise awareness, encourage prayer and provide financial and other support for our fellow Christians in the Holy Land.
The Friends of the Holy Land will be formally launched in Birmingham and Liverpool over the weekend of 14th / 15th November 2009. The Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Fouad Twal, will be celebrating Mass in both locations.
The Mass in Birmingham will be held in St Chad’s Cathedral, Queensway on Saturday 14th November at 1.30pm and will be celebrated by the Patriarch and Bishop Philip Pargeter. A small Reception will follow in the Canon’s Dining Room in Cathedral House.

Crazy! Doesn't anyone control the cathedral diary to make sure that clashes like this don't happen?

Evidently not. I've just had to threaten the full force of my wrath to secure the use of the kitchen, which was agreed months ago!
Having got the kitchen back, can you let me know if you are planning to attend so that I can cater for you! I can guarantee a good lunch, and I'm sure the rest of the day will be good too!

Eat this bread... Berthier/Taizé
End - Christus Vincit chant

Don't panic - the kitchen for the Grimshaw Room is not the same kitchen as that of the Canons' dining room. (Goes to freezer to defrost excellent fish pie donated to poor inner-city parish from Canons' dining room)
