Traditional parish in Brighton?

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Traditional parish in Brighton?

Post by gwyn »

Does anyone know of a "traditional" parish in Brighton?

A friend of mine's work has taken her to Brighton. She's living in Kemp Town.

Thanks brethren.

I suppose that question would be best answered if we knew what your friend understands as "traditional" - 1962 rite? Missa Normativa? Vernacular with not-a-guitar-in-sight? I've always associated Brighton with the spikier wing of Anglo-Catholicism, so would be interested to find out how the RCs manage the competition!

Good point Mithras.

My friend is a thirty-something Polish catholic who has a preference for Mass celebrated with dignity be it Novus Ordo or otherwise.

Thanks for any advice or suggestion.

Mary Magdalene, with its blogging Parish Priest, might fit that description. I understand Mass is celebrated in Polish too.

Mary Mag is definitely the one if your friend wants the trad end of the spectrum. Things are supposed to be fairly trad at Sacred Heart, Hove, too, but different PPs do different things.... :D
