The Sunday Obligation - it's returning

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

The Sunday Obligation - it's returning

Post by keitha »

At their Spring Plenary Conference in Cardiff this week the Bishops of England & Wales agreed that the 'Sunday obligation' should be restored on and from Pentecost this year (5th June).

How are folks who haven't attended meant to find out?

Good point. The Bishops issued a press release on 9th May - but I didn't notice much about it in the media. We have been working on email and personal contact systems over the last 2 years and have activated them. Then there's our schools, who in my neck of the woods have disseminated the information. Too early to tell what impact this has had as we had confirmations at Pentecost and First Communions last Sunday, all with full congregations.
