Re: "Responsorial" Gloria

@southern comfort
I've found the Sanctus for this Mass by following your link but not the Kyrie or Agnus Dei; is there a link please?

Re: "Responsorial" Gloria

I'm a little late to this discussion but we are reintroducing a sung Gloria for the first time this Sunday and I've picked the Glory to God from Paul Inwood's 'A Plymouth Mass' which is responsorial. It was introduced to the congregation in the early days of the new translation, we used to alternate ...

Re: New Celtic Liturgy (Walker)

Probably not Nick (was using an online metronome to try and work out how quickly we sang it) but it is definitely not sung at 52. The instruction in Laudate is to sing it joyfully but it doesn't sound very joyful at 52.

Re: New Celtic Liturgy (Walker)

We've used it here several times as it is the preferred Gloria for the parish school and on the couple of times we've sung it on a Sunday (including last week) the congregation has been comfortable singing the refrain with the children also singing the verses. According to the Laudate supplement the ...

Re: Papal Inauguration Mass

I wonder how many in the Square actually managed to receive Communion? Despite all the ministers, it looked as if only those near to the barriers could receive - people further back couldn't get close enough because, I guess, those at the front weren't going to give up the prime spaces.

Re: Pope's resignation

We were just having a discussion saying we weren't aware that a pope could resign; apparently the last one who did was Gregory XII in 1415

Re: 4 o'clock Vigil service?

It was definitely the Vigil Mass readings, with the Matthew Gospel, that we used last year as I just checked the sheet that was on my desk. I don't know about previous years as I'm always at Midnight Mass. Having done a quick search many churches call the evening Mass the Vigil Mass; at Ealing Abbey ...

We have the Vigil Mass at 7pm (organ), Midnight Mass (organ/choir), Christmas Day Mass 10am (organ), Polish Mass at 3pm (Polish musicians and singers)

Re: Hymn books wanted

Hare,
I know my next door neighbours have recently replaced the CFE with Laudate but I don't know what has happened to the old pew additions. Perhaps you could give them a call?
