Can anyone tell me the copyright attribution of Little Donkey? This children's nativity play during 5pm Mass plan to sing it and include words in the service sheet. As the composer died only a couple of weeks ago I'm fairly sure its in copyright (and not covered by Calamus or CCLI), but I can't find the details anywhere.
I know how un-liturgical this is, but I can only effect change slowly!

From what I can glean from Google (not much), it seems to be published by Chappell. I'd recommend calling them. You can rest assured that it IS in copyright!

Re: Little Donkey
The information in my records from many years ago is that the author is Eric Boswell and the copyright is, as Musicus says, owned by Chappell. I don't think it's covered by Calamus or CCL.

It could be a lot worse. 'm told that there are schools that've written Joseph out of ther story.

Re: Little Donkey
It is in "Carol Gaily Carol" published by I think, the people that do Apuskidu and such like children's song books for schools. Blackman maybe. Black's books - n0, that's something else. Eric Boswell yes.
uh oh!
Re: Little Donkey
Yes, Little Donkey is in 'Carol, gaily carol', one of A&C Black's wonderful song books, and they suggest that the songs should be learned aurally so copying is not necessary: great in the classroom, but not for a Christmas Eve congregation.
