Timothy Campbell invites you to:

A Diocesan Gregorian Chant Day

Brentwood Cathedral, Saturday 21 November

Led by Nick Gale, MA(Oxon) Hon FASC, Director of Music at St. George’s RC Cathedral, Southwark

The day will deal with the fascinating background and history of chant, featuring plenty of music for use during Advent and Christmas, together with more general simple chant for the whole year.

Learn how to read it and what it all means!

Explore the beauty and wealth of plainchant, the preservation and use of which was recommended in the Second Vatican Council documents and more recently by Rome. The day will end with Vespers.

11am to 4pm. (Registration 10.30am) Cost £7

Please bring a packed lunch

For bookings, further information or explanation do please contact Shirley Timmins on 01277 219944 (Tues to Sat 9.30am to 5pm) or 01277 233302 at other times. e-mail picturesque@tiscali.co.uk or the Cathedral Music Office 01277 265268, e-mail music@dioceseofbrentwood.org
