My church is currently installing an elaborate new choir rostrum/platform.
Our architect is trying to locate a source for music lamps - think Kings Cambridge - a combination of an electric bulb with an incorporated candle holder (possibly in a glass tube / cylinder).
We are looking to install 40 such items. Do any of you know of either a supplier or possible a craftsperson who might be in a position to make same?

40 ?! That's some choir you have there. Does Spem in alium feature regularly?
Addressing your question, this does sound like a custom job to me - as you suggest. Perhaps a specialist lighting company could help, or an ecclesiastical supplier.

Re: Lights and lanterns
Our motto is 'Aim high' and try not to fall in the process!!!
Our plan is ambitious. I'll be 'seeding' more information about it in the coming weeks.
My choir has increased from 22 to 35 in the last twelve months - including 'younger' members in the age range 17 to late 20's.
It is progressing really well.
The choir space accommodates 40 minimum - it will allow at least 10 more than that. The 40 was our ideal upper number over a year ago when discussions began.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that enthusiasm will continue and that we may achieve great things over the coming seasons.
My parish team is brilliant and they are 100% this. It is a very positive development in a time when mush about the church is terribly negative.
So, out lights and lanterns may have more significance than just looking pretty in the choir stalls!
