Can anyone provide details of the authorship/history of the Lent Prose? Is it Gregorian Chant?
Thanks.

Re: Attende Domini
A brief search suggests it is a Mozarabic hymn from the 10th century. It certainly belongs to the chant genre.

Forgive the ignorance - what's Mozarabic? I quite like it in English as in Hymns ancient and modern.

One assumes a Mozarabic hymn is one which has its origins in the Mozarabic Rite.

Re: Attende Domini
This penitential hymn is based on a 10th century Mozarabic Litany for the Lenten Season.
I looked up Mozarabic and it one of the oldest Latin rites covering France and Spain. Attende Domine.
