Who is J.P. ?

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Who is J.P. ?

Post by oopsorganist »

Studying the Mass sheet this morning, it was a new one, for us, anyway..... different font used etc...... reading the acknowledgements on the back (hmm, during the sermon of course) I see a J. P. (forget name and forgot to bring sheet home) credited as choosing the hymns. He chose Praise to the Holiest, and Hail Redeemer and something else, I forget that too..... but I am fascinated to think someone is sitting there choosing hymns to include on the Liturgy sheets........ could I have that job do you think? Is it well paid? I wonder if he/she, but probably he, chose alone, or asked around the workplace, or organised a committee, or scanned all previous editions for Palm Sunday and made a stab at what might be standard and uncontroversial, or just put in his/her favourites.

It was not the best sheet I have seen. We were lucky to avoid going through the informal, formal and super formal forms of entry. I am glad I didn't see it before the service, I would have been well confused.
uh oh!

Well, oops, you have found us out. This is exactly how the contents of all those liturgical indexes in such publications as Laudate, Celebration for Everyone, Hymns Old and New and, of course, Music & Liturgy are put together.

And, no, the work is not well paid.
