Small Jewel discovered in BBC dust...

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Small Jewel discovered in BBC dust...

Post by sidvicius »

Many of you will have been doing your stuff when this was on, so I post the link for your delectation. Sadly you can't download it, so grab it while you can because it'll be gone next sunday.

BBC wrote:Fr Donal Godfrey, Society of Jesus, leads a service from the Catholic Parish of Most Holy Redeemer, San Francisco, exploring how gay people can find a place in the Christian narrative and speaks of the gift of faith. The preacher is the Catholic writer and theologian, Fr James Alison.

Here's the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/programmes/sunday_worship/

I tend to find the BBC's morning worship-type programming a little dry. This was distinctly above average.

But did you catch the service from St. Pixcell's? Or did I imagine the cyber space church?

I'm still confused oops. Has there been some on-line mass broadcast recently?

OT: I found out why broadcasting is called broadcasting this week. Quite biblical, wouldn'tcha kno...

Aha! Those rad' methodists over at Ship-of-fools.com reinventing themselves again! :)

Sadly the recording has gone the way of all things, but the transcript is still available here http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/programmes/sunday_worship/documents/20070415.shtml

Yes it was a good broadcast. I can't say I liked the cantor style type of music very much but it was groundbreaking stuff. There has been furious reaction in some quarters! I usually hear this broadcast when driving to church and it is often uplifting!
