Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Sunday November 17, 1968

Unwrapping some glasses packed up by my grandmother before she moved herself into an old people's home, I find myself reading the Radio Times dated 14 November 1968.

On Sunday 17 November, at 10.30 on Radio 4 (or 'Home: North') there was 'Parish Mass from the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Peace, Llanelli.
Preacher: The Rt Rev Langdon D. Fox, Auxiliary Bishop of Menevia
Celebrant: The Rev Fr Michael F. Tomkins
Epistle: 1 Thessalonicans 1, vv2-10
Gospel: Matthew 13, vv31-35
Hymns: Henffych well, wir gorf a anwyd (Hyfrodol); Almighty Father, Lord most high (Tallis' Canon) See us, Lord, about thine altar (Praise my soul); Immaculate Mary (Lourdes Hymn).
Organist: Ungoed Thomas
Choirmaster: Terence Murphy
The action of the Mass described by the Rev Fr Anthony Jones'

Was anyone from the Forum there?

Earlier that morning, at 9.5, or nine-oh-five as we now know it, there had been a programme called 'In every corner sing' in which Geoffrey Wheeler 'talks to blanket makers at Witney, Oxfordshire. Their favourite hymns are sung by a choir from the Witney Churches.'

Talk about reality TV - I think there's an idea to make the mind boggle!
