In the deep midwinter........

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

In the deep midwinter........

Post by High Peak »

There were some unusual additions to the liturgy at Mass tonight....

In the Introductory Rite: “Welcome, brothers and sisters to tonight’s celebration of the 1st Sunday after the breakdown of the central heating system.” 😱
After the Dismissal: “You may go outside and warm up.”

What a week for the central heating to break down! It was ~7°C in there! 🥶🥶🥶 The church was built in 1829; our Victorian ancestors, who went to Mass before any heating system was installed, were clearly made of hardier stuff!

“I take it that we are having Eucharistic Prayer 2 tonight, Father?”
“You bet we are!!”
