Mass for Canonisation of Mother Teresa

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Mass for Canonisation of Mother Teresa

Post by Howard Baker »

Interesting that the Communion hymn at the Mass in St Peter's square was sung in Italian to Winchester Old (While shepherds watched...).

Was that the one piece of music that the EWTN commentators chose not to yabber continually through? I've all but given up viewing EWTN's televised liturgies since almost anything musical is treated as irrelevant and so they take the opportunity to spontaneously translate or commentate without ceasing. It's very, VERY annoying.

Ah well.

Didn't watch the Mass, but saw a news item - they were singing the verses of Paul Inwood's hymn for the Year of Mercy - a bit too slow and too free with the rhythm I thought. Did anyone else notice this?

I did notice the Year of Mercy hymn. It was also sung at the WYD big Mass.
