How do you solve the problem of translation?

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Sing verse 2 aloud to get the full impact of the line-up of syllables....

This song was sung at the "Pastoral Musicians' Breakfast" during which Christopher Walker was honoured as NPM's Pastoral Musician of the Year 2012, following in the footsteps of Bernadette Farrell (2006) and Paul Inwood (2009). Chris's acceptance speech was witty and well-crafted, and included a rendition by the 600+ musicians gathered in the room of "the shortest piece of music in the world", Beethoven's Ars longa, vita brevis 4-part round.
