Antiphons and hymns

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

I might be wrong.
We've done OHTTTOA at my church for as long as I've been going there and it works. Very rarely I've had adverse comments, more often compliments on the choice of words and even the smaller congregations we have had recently tend to sing them as well as they sing anything. It gives a greater choice of hymns to suit the themes of the day without the need to rehearse beforehand. By now people seem to be used to singing other than Good Friday hymns to Rockingham and Horsley or Ascension hymns to "Hydrofoil". We've even been known to use Winchester Old for hymns not about laundering footwear, though generally around Christmas time. However, because of the fear of association mentioned by others I generally use Kingsfold in preference to Forest Green for DCM hymns.
