The Pentecost Sequence is not used on Saturday as there are special texts for the Vigil Mass and the sequence is not included
I've now read the Diocesan Liturgy planner more thoroughly, it gives an Order of service for the Mass opening, with the extra readings and very clearly states that the Pentecost sequence is sung before the gospel acclamation.
I shall be fascinated to see what's on the misalette.
My understanding too is that the sequence is not used at the vigil.
Does anyone know of a parish where the vigil is done with all the readings listed on asb's link above?
My Uni Chaplaincy used to make a big thing of the Pentecost Vigil with its proper texts, but I've never encountered anywhere else that actually makes something of the feast.

But perhaps I'm wrong, just looked in our Diocesan Ordo and it specifies the sequence for both vigil and morning Masses. Not that this is any help to anyone now of course!
I have been to a beautiful Pentecost Vigil tonight. We started with an enthusiastic sprinkling rite to remind us of our baptismal responsibilities which we renewed at the Easter Vigil. Then we had the beautiful readings from Genesis, Exodus, Ezekiel and Joel, each one with an appropriate psalm, then the New Testament readings. The Mass ended with each one being anointed with sweet smelling oil as a sign of our prayer for the Holy Spirit to come. We didn't have the Pentecost Sequence, but we will at Mass tomorrow. Tonights Vigil lasted about 2 hours, and was followed by wine and nibbles. The whole evening was beautiful. I hope everyone else enjoys this great feast as much.

Lucky you Anne! We had confirmation at the cathedral on Sunday and the sequence was read by a reader (seems nobody had planned for the cantor to sing it). At the 5.30 Mass it nearly got read again but as I was cantor I said I knew it and so I sang it and people said they liked hearing the chant - it is one of the most beautiful I think and I don't think I was indulging myself Mr Bear!
