Lourdes Ave French Lyrics

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Lourdes Ave French Lyrics

Post by Psalm Project »

Hi all,
Urgent request...
Has anyone got the French Lyrics to the well-known Lourdes Ave Maria (The bells of the angelus).
I need them for a 12 noon funeral tomorrow - family requested it in addition to a couple of verses in English - Deceased was an ardent fan of Lourdes.
I cannot find anything on the official Lourdes website
Thanks in anticipation

Five minutes with Google and here are three different versions! No idea which is the real one and which are the impostors. But I imagine any of them will hit the spot for tomorrow.

This is the one I remember from my teens – taken from one of the Facebook Lourdes pages.

R/ Ave, ave, ave Maria ! (bis)

That will help a lot because of phrase like: La Da-me s’app-roche fait sign-e à l’enfant.

Well, it's going to be an interesting 'put-together'.
The soloist is American (baptist) / friend of the family - does not speak french - also has to sing some Gaelic (probably more challenging in some respects than French!)
I've spent the past few hours trying to hammer together a phonetic version for those Gaelic bits.
Who says church musicians should not get paid for funeral work!!! It's these hours of preparation that undertakers never see when 'calculating' a fee... 'scuse me... an 'offering' for the musician. PLEASE... no new thread on that issue - I'll be blue in the face from replies!
Thanks again.
