No – but a simple explanation would help.

Nope, understand those. Just don't understand the link between organ voluntaries and your belief that "there are so many fine organs languishing neglected in Liverpool churches!"
Nick Baty wrote:Yes, I do mind. Simply explain what you mean.
Nick Baty wrote:So what's the link between that particular organ – in the church where my grandfather sang in the choir – and your earlier statement?

Nick Baty wrote:We'd love a lot more organ playing in Liverpool churches – but finding organists is a different matter.
I work across three churches. Two do not have organs and we'd make do with our lovely Clavinovas – but we can't find anyone to play those either.
The third church has a magnificent organ which is almost totally useless – it's too far away and too high up. We tried to use it one Easter Vigil with a two-way radio between me and the organist – it was still hopeless – the time lag made it impossible.
So we've spent £13,000 on an Allen digital organ which was installed at the front of the church two years ago – the sound is magnificent and there is no time lag problem.
So if you want to solve the situation which is causing you so much grief, find me a couple of organists for two of our churches, and the money to add an independent console to the organ in the third one.Hare wrote:(Now MIDI........ )
Again, please explain your cryptic comment.
