I thought that this was rather good

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

I thought that this was rather good

Recently I listened to a version of Ps 23 on Youtube - 'Chabanel Psalms Audio Sample'.

I found this appealing, and not unlike some of the music in 'Pasllite'.

What do people think?

See http://www.chabanelpsalms.org Note that the site is American, so the psalm text version is (I think) CCD - it certainly isn't Grail.

I think we've talked about/linked to this resource before. The full set is at this link.

I agree that its a useful resource, one which I dip into on occasion. It does need some tweaking as, being American, the translation is not the Grail approved for use over here.

It is freely downloadable, a factor which some corners of the internet seem to rate as more important than its musicality in hailing it as wonderful.

I'm happy to stand correction, doc, but I suspect you're confusing categories of commendation. If so, why so?

The psalm text is NAB and the responses are ICEL - i.e. not the same responses as in the UK Lectionary.

I found it a tad grim. The refrain of the responsorial psalm must be easily and instantly singable. Our assembly would struggle with this.
