Diocesan Music Committee

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Regarding Birmingham, I understand that the committee had a three-year mandate from the archbishop, which has now elapsed, and that the committee awaits reformation. Its work so far has included a number of workshops for parish musicians in various parts of the archdiocese, the productions of two fact sheets (on organs, and on copyright), and a very substantial response to the Liturgy Office's consultation on sung texts. I also understand that the diocesan centre will soon have a decent sized room where music-making can be undertaken, a small kitchen - and a loo (so that covers all the bases!).
