Does anyone know if there is more to the Taize 'Confitemini Domino' than the ostinato as found in "Music from Taize" or even Laudate? We did 'Laudate, omnes gentes' last Sunday with verses and a flute playing the relevant parts and it really made it something else. However I can't find any 'extra bits' that might give Confitemini that extra something.
We tend to do chanty things like this at communion but if it goes on too long without any extra colour to it people start to complain that it has become dull and tedious.

Songs from Taizé - Instrumental Parts, Ateliers et Presses de Taizé, 2001, ISBN 2-85040-185-4, contains parts for guitar, recorders (single line and duet), flute, oboe, cor anglais, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and cello or bassoon for Confitemini as well as accompaniments for many other Taizé chants. Most of these parts are also in Music from Taizé - Instrumental Edition, Vol. II, Collins Liturgical Publications, 1985, ISBN 0-00-599883-2 and the corresponding Vocal Edition (ISBN 0-00-599863-8) may well have vocal verses as well, though I can't find my copy at the moment to check (I've probably left it in the church). However, I haven't seen the Collins books in the shops recently, so they may be out of print.
I wish you luck finding a copy. Taizé chants are improved by the addition of well performed verses or instrumental accompaniments and Confitemini is a particularly lovely one, especially when the basic ostinato is sung in harmony.

Decani Music have the Instrumental book at just shy of £18. Pretty sure the Collins editions are no longer sold, but you can get a second hand copy through abebooks for the princely sum of £50…

Re: Confitemini Domino- extra parts?
Thanks Peter and Paul. I've just contacted Decani about the book. Its good to know that parts are in included before shelling out for it. I have both volumes of the vocal edition but no verses are included, so Br Jacques probably didn't write any.
I have the intrumental ed of Vol I from years ago and its very useful, both for other instuments and also the organ. Keyboard parts can sometimes be arranged LH to ped and RH to LH leaving RH free to pretend to be a flute/oboe etc. Its not useful enough to pay 50 quid for vol II though
