If you spot it watch the BBC4 programme to mark the centenary of scouting "Scouting for Boys" presented by Ian Hislop. It includes a delightful interview with our esteemed secretary Paul Moynihan KSG and MC extraordinaire! They look at Baden-Powell's original manuscript of "Scouting for Boys" in front of a blazing log fire.
STOP PRESS! Surprise BAFTA award to scout archivist for debut. Who needs Ian Hislop? Scouts announce new programme "Be Prepared" hosted by Paul Moynihan.
SSG get in on act and announce their series with same title on the liturgy.
Typical question: What to do if your Easter Candle catches fire?
Do you:
a Maintain that it must remain alight throughout the liturgy and let the church burn down
b Replace all candles with electrical versions
c Start a company to market b
d Inform the Vatican that candles are dangerous and should be phased out
e Cancel Easter?
True liturgists would of course choose a despite the consequences.
And this actually happened at Westminster Cathedral at Easter Day evening Mass. The incense sticks flew out of the candle hitting the floor with loud reports and the top of the candle decoration caught fire. Nightlights are now in use at the top of the somewhat shorter candle.
Scary stuff!
Be prepared

Ahhhh - I remember my Easter Candle holder catching fire -
there I was - singing my heart out - when I happened to glance up from my hymnbook and see flames about 7 inches high - I was so astonished I fell back slightly gave a sharp scream and my stiletto heel got stuck in between the wooden beams of the floor. Yes - I managed to blow the fire out vigorously. Not one person upstairs or downstairs in the congregation noticed.
