1974 - there's an article by CW in Vol1 no 1 on establishing a musical tradition at the cathedral - but that's not ten years on....

1974 - It's the year that "Church Music" (Originally the Church Music Association of the Society of Saint Gregory) came back to the SSG and two magazines became one. I think that year one number one imust be 1929 - but I'd have to drive up to Oscott and go in the periodicals library to see that, and it's far too late at night.

I think Presbyter is right - year one number one would be 1929; but the 1974 issue is Vol 1 no 1 of the new, improved, restored M&L, I'm guessing.

And it's in the post, Nick!
