Christian Community Bible

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Christian Community Bible

Post by gwyn »

A Happy and Holy New Year to you all.

I've been given a copy of the Christian Community Bible as a prezzie. It has the full quota of Old Testament books, including Maccabees 1&2, Tobit, etc.,
Imprimatur - Catholic Bishops conference of the Philippines.

I'm sort of assuming that it might be a translation of a translation and so be potentially flawed in its English format. Would that be a fair assumption? Maybe I'm well of track though, maybe it's as good a translation as there is to be had.

With gratitudefor any advice and guidance on this.

A quick google found this:

http://www.bible.claret.org/bibles/

and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Community_Bible

The latter points out that the text of this translation is freely available as a download.

Thanks M. It looks to be a reliable arrangement.
