Mannafest Acclamations

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Mannafest Acclamations

Post by docmattc »

Last year I used Chris Walker's Mannafest Aclamations for Advent (in Music for the Mass 1 and Songs of the Spirit 2 (or 3?), thinking that the translation of 'Hosanna' into the english particularly apt for the season. In light of Liturgicam Authenticam, are these acclamations no longer useable?

Text of the Sanctus is:
Holy holy
Lord of all powers
heaven and earth are full of your glory
come and deliver us, come and deliver us, come and deliver us Lord most high
blest is he who comes in the name of the Lord
come and deliver us, come and deliver us, come and deliver us Lord most high

Ah, the Midwives' Mass...

Yes, we used to use this for Advent too, because of 'come and deliver us'. And in the parish before that we took it at breakneck speed for some reason.

I'd argue for that translation too, Matt, but I don't know how far we'd get.
