prayer of abandonment

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

prayer of abandonment

Post by docmattc »

Some years ago I came across a setting of Charles de Foucauld's Prayer of Abandonment by Michael Coughlan (Coughlin?) but I've never been able to track down where this is published to get a copy. It was written in 3 part harmony and I vaguely recall the melody was in the alto line. Does anyone have any clues?

Have you found this yet? I asked a Little Brother this morning if he knew it or had it ...... it made him laugh when I asked but I don't know why..... he has gone home to have a look for you.

There is a Michael Coghlan who publishes 'sacred choral' music - part of the Gordon v Thompson Sacred music series which now seems to have been swallowed whole by the corporate juggernaut that is Warner. Hard to find but try http://www.mpa.org/directories/music_publishers/show/397 to start. this seems to be a huge website so the pages take time to load.
