Oh, never mind - think I've got it.

Did you know that male reindeer lose their antlers about the end of November whereas fenale reindeers don't lose theirs until they give birth in Spring. Thus, the reindeer that took Santa Claus on his rounds must have been female (since, according to the pictures I've seen, they had antlers) which is reasonable since only females could have taken Santa all over the world in one night without getting lost! OK, that's my bit of sexism over for this year (a whole new year is available next week!)
