Typos

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Typos

Post by Merseysider »

Small typo in Music Liturgy music planner for 30th October. It gives a list of "Hymns and Dongs".

Reminded me of the time I asked a congregation to sing "Holy, Holy, Holy Ltd" and the occasion on which a missing 'p' found them struggling with "She herd me, Lord".

And then there's the parish who sang: "At the sign of triumph, Stan's legions flee..."

And the advert for an afternoon with Ernest Sands – "Well-known composer and liturgust".

Our newsletter recently announced that "minuets" would be available for everyone who had missed the parish meeting.

There must be many more....

Hymn number 188 "God the Mass is ended" in a certain hymnal still in popular use.

In a parish I used to be in a service sheet contained an unfortunate typo in 'Soul of my Saviour':
Body of Christ, be thou my saving guset

Snog? No sex please, we're British.

Our choir menu a few months back contained the typo:
Communion Snog - - - - 560 satb 2-end.

Fortunately the choir - disobedient as ever - took not a blind bit of notice.

Where M lives, they don't see anything amiss with the line as quoted by P

I think it's a football reference.

I suppose it could be a sigh of resignation upon the failure of an Advent Wreath Ceremony

Our school secretary once produced a hymnsheet containing a wonderful version of "There is a green hill"
"That we might go at least to heaven saved by His precious blood" Nothing like setting your sights high!

Totally "off-topic" but can anyone say why Presbyter's location is now listed as "gone away"? I wondered why we hadn't heard his wise words for a while..... :(
