As far as I can see, live-streamed Masses are mostly from churches, with the recording camera mounted variously distant from the altar.
My parish (Barnet) has taken a different line. It does not use the church but a fairly small meeting room, rigged up with temporary altar and ambo close by. The effect is to bring the priest and liturgy much closer to the camera, and therefore to engage the viewer much more immediately. With my laptop linked to the largish TV in my living room, it really does feel that the priest is there, addressing me personally. It's not just watching, it's real participation.
