winner of MPC
I am sad to say (because it is not me ) that the winner of MPC is " excathedra" for he seems to have cheated by employing the "I am in the background and moving silently and in secret" tactic. Humph! He has arrived at New Hall for Morning Prayer on Monday, a day early!

samantha
A colleague has recently been to a "live" recording of a BBC radio programme which he says is remarkably similar to "I'm sorry I haven't a pew". (Two thirty minute programmes are recorded back to back and it takes just over three hours, it seems. At the end of this time everyone's ribs are sore from laughter.)
I am sad to report that "Samantha" doesn't really keep the score - she doesn't really exist! Sad now

One childhood illusion shattered. Never mind, at least I'll understand the rules to Mornington Crescent, if I keep listening for long enough.

There writes someone who's never told their children about Saint Nick of the red coat ...presbyter wrote:I am sad to report that "Samantha" doesn't really keep the score - she doesn't really exist! Sad now
It's not a generation gap, it's a taste gap.

Re: Late arrivals at the Liturgists' Ball
Sad news yesterday that the Lord has uttered the words 'Mornington Crescent' in Humph's ear, and called him as an early arrival to the Heavenly Ball. May the choirs of angels greet him singing one hymn to the tune of another.
In tibute I will be playing "Come Holy Ghost" to the tune of "House of the rising sun" in the morning, and abandoning the organ in favour of the swannee-kazoo (or perhaps not!)
And to keep on topic; In an attempt to heal liturgical rifts, please welcome the highly traditional Japanese wrestler Rumpontificum, who's usually known by his profession: Sumo

Perhaps the heavenly Samantha will greet Humphrey?

RIP - the totally magnificent Humph.
What will become of Samantha now?

I don't doubt that she is already scoring with someone else.
I hope Humph has one of those traditional New Orleans-style funerals (as depicted at the start of the James Bond movie Live and Let Die). Quite the best way to celebrate a musician's life, I think. Thank God for Humph's music and humour; may he rest in peace.
