Judging from this page http://www.dioceseofleedsmusic.org.uk/advice_materials/music_for_liturgy.php it seems to be chant, and Latin chant at that. Cf. http://www.dioceseofleedsmusic.org.uk/advice_materials/download_scores.php
I notice that the person who drew up these directives appears to be Anglican rather than Catholic, as evidenced by this quote from the first page mentioned:
The form of music requiring no instruments or specialist singers is both most easily obtainable and most important liturgically. It should take precedence over the requirement to sing Mass settings and hymns. This comprises the Gospel Acclamation (Alleluia except in Lent when Praise to thee [sic], O Christ is sung) and...

I had read the Leeds Diocesan Music Resources list some years ago - it is a no laughing list for sure -

I'l go find it. Ah, here it is. The setting that parishes were advised to learn - someone kindly linked in the organ bits some years ago on this forum - at the top of this document it says Vatican 2 Hymnal ccwatershed.org/vatican - don't know what its called though. A Missal Tone? Parishes were asked to learn this - I think PPs were given a CD. It was to replace the Celtic Mass which used to be the Diocesan thing. I have not heard it used anywhere on my travels. So I guess we can discount it for the Yorkshire repertoire.
I was just making a list of what is actually happening in parishes since I am freely ranging round. It is quite interesting for me to see what other parishes do. What is happening rather than what is precept ed, or exemplified by the Cathedral.
There is some congregational hymn singing at the cathedral according to their list, two hymns per Mass. Some odd choices. I think so anyway. Laudate 712 - that old favourite - The God of Abraham Praise. It's a nice tune, but goes up to high E. (1725 - 1799) plus See us Lord, About Thy Altar.
But they are at t'Rugby tonight! Get that Tetley's in!
