Having moved from Sheffield (Yorkshire) to Tampa (Florida) there were bound to be some issues.
It's all gone rather well but on Monday I chose and played/sang music for the Immaculate Conception and discovered, to my horror, that the Americans have even mangled the refrain of 'Immaculate Mary'. The rhythm has been altered and very awkwardly at that.
I now discover that there are different tunes to some carols and no end of word changes and I don't mean curious misspellings of the mother tongue.
The sunshine is some compensation, I suppose.
