WW1 Commemoration

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

WW1 Commemoration

Post by JW »

The Church of England seem to have their act together on this:

Can anyone enlighten as to what's happening in Catholic dioceses?

Thanks Kerrezza, I wasn't aware of this Bishops Conference resolution.

Many will be in the same position: We're not very good at communication.

The Bishops have agreed 4 or 5 significant 'battle' days each year on which Masses will be celebrated. Hallam Diocese J & P Commission have approved a draft proposal for a 4 year plan culminating in a Year for Peace (and Justice) and an invitation for parishes to be in Covenant/Agreement for Peace (and Justice). There will be a pilot for the Deanery project/liturgy in November 2014. The pilot will then be rolled out to all deaneries.

Remembrance Sunday will be celebrated as ever.
