With odd exceptions, this seemed to be a non-event in England and Wales.

Worldwide Eucharistic Adoration ???

It happened in three parishes near me. I'm told that support materials were sent out in reasonably good time here in the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Re: Worldwide Eucharistic Adoration ???
Well, we'd already planned a Corpus Christi procession across our village, so had a period of adoration after arriving at the church before going on to benediction. Not a whole hour, but in solidarity with the worldwide church.
It's not a generation gap, it's a taste gap.
Re: Worldwide Eucharistic Adoration ???
We had Evening Prayer, exposition and benediction this afternoon as per order sheet sent out. Weather brilliant, so far more people out walking than coming to church at 4pm. About 20 there.
Re: Worldwide Eucharistic Adoration ???
We too had a 'Holy Hour' which followed the service sheet sent out. Several members of our choir were present and led us in some chants and hymns. Our deacon assisted and did much of the 'hard' work as it was FHC this morning and our PP, who is over 80, must have been exhausted.
There were 35 to 40 parishioners present which was about 25 to 30 more than I was expecting.
I wish we could have one of these services more often - it was lovely.

Re: Worldwide Eucharistic Adoration ???
We normally have a Holy Hour at 5.15 pm on the first Sunday of the month - we have an Evening Mass at 6.30 pm for which many of the regular Holy Hour attendees stay. So we decided to forget about synchronicity and keep to our 5.15 time. Our normal 20 congregation swelled to 40 or so.
We used the two intentions reported to be Pope Francis's and advertised only last Wednesday on the Westminster diocesan Agency for Evangelisation website:
Did anyone else spot them? The Holy Hours in Rome with Pope Francis's attendance were very traditional Eucharistic devotion.

- Pope Francis has just announced two prayer intentions for this hour. The first is for the 'Church throughout the world united today in Adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist,' that the Lord makes her ever obedient to his word so that she appears before the world as 'beautiful, without spot or wrinkle, holy and without blemish.'
The second intention is dedicated to people around the world who are suffering from violence, drug or human trafficking, economic insecurity, and those who have been pushed to the margins of society.

First things first. We had a fund-raising parish Garden party.

Sheffield celebrated with a procession from the cathedral to four altars erected at significant locations in the city centre. Several hundreds followed in procession and countless numbers were intriguingly distracted.

Excellent and innovative.
