Pedal 32.16.16.16.8.8.4. 16.8.
All reasonable offers received - buyer to dismantle and remove
Would make nice smaller two-manual with less extension
The dummy pipe casework is not included, by the way.
Go on - make me an offer - ask a local organ builder about the possibility of replacing Compton's magnets with a solid state action.
Location - near a tree that marks the centre of England (allegedly)
PS - the Universe fairly recently valued this organ in a church feature at £90K. I am not looking for that much!
Organ for sale
Moderators: Dom Perignon, Casimir
Not so long ago I saw a large pipe organ (recently dismantled), for sale for c.£1500. When I asked how much it would cost to rebuild, I was told around £60K...
It was at the time our church was being built. When the serious enquiries began, I looked at a small pipe organ I had played in a soon to be closed community chapel. The agents said it would 'go for at least a 5 figure sum.'
It went for £1000. There seem to be a lots of conflicting notions of the value of pipe organs, and much of what is paid for is the time and skill of the organ builder.

Hang on a sec!
Dare I ask, why is it being replaced, given that you seem to think it would be worth something to someone, ergo: not beyond economic repair...?

The action/electrics are worn out - it is practically unplayable - and seventy-something year old cotton insulated wiring could soon be a fire hazard

estimates to rebuild are in the region of £100,000 - the instrument is not worth it
