I'm a keen subscriber to The Tablet and read it from cover to cover. I do not agree that the Olympic coverage was gutwrenching as I was much involved with More than Gold and the torch relay and delighted that Catholics were working with other denominations to get our message out there! I have no time for the other papers. I used to read The Church Times which is a well edited paper but again no time! The Tablet does suffer from poor editing at times with unnecessary slips but nobody's perfect! I find the diary and review sections excellent and the letters page is good (I have letters published twice) and I've won the crossword 3 times! In reply to thsoe who want to target the paper as left wing and I do see some blogs which do this, The Tablet published articles by the Pope and leading figures so it does try to be balanced!

Did we 'get our message out there' - or were we just jockeying for position with everyone from Coca-Cola to Nike via Boris Johnson? If the latter, I'm pretty certain who was remembered - and who was forgotten - by Jo/Joe Public! Unfortunately.
