It seems that Philip Egan, recently named as the next Bishop of Portsmouth, is an unpublished composer of liturgical music — at least one Mass setting and some psalm tones, and possibly more.
Today the Vatican has just announced the appointment of Fr Paul Bird, the Australian Redemptorist Provincial and a member of the Australian Liturgy Council, as Bishop of Ballarat. You can find links to his Mass of St Alphonsus here: http://www.redemptorists.co.uk/news-and-events/news-items/421-liturgical-music.html, the only example of a completely uni-thematic Mass setting that I am aware of, with a narrow vocal range and overall tessitura slightly on the high side, judging from the sound files. Sounds like the kind of thing Trotman and Co were writing in the 1960s, but the composer says it was deliberately intended to be very simple.
