Old translation for the Year of Faith?

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Old translation for the Year of Faith?

Post by Nick Baty »

Interesting post on Pray Tell about the Year of Faith which appears to be promoting a previous translation of The Creed. Still, that fits with the experience of a friend visiting an English church in Rome recently. He said: “It was great to able to say And also with you and Lord God of Power and Might. Wish we could still do that in England.”

I had the same experience at a Mass in English that I attended in Malta a few weeks ago; really made one think about what you were saying though. (Sat wondering whether I should 'dob them in' to Rome?)

It was only when someone told me afterwards, that I knew that at a mass I recently attended in London, the Lourdes Gloria was in the old translation. I didn't notice!

What we obviously need is a personal prelature focussed on non-revisionist readings of Vat 2 and the use of the old translation.
I would be first in the queue.

You suggesting an opt-out group for those who don't like what's going on? Could you imagine the Vatican ever condoning that?

I know. Smacks too much of a la carte catholicism.
