Can't wait to see what, if anything, has been omitted from the Nihil Obstated Green Book. I understand it'll be several weeks yet before it's printed. And there'll be a ready-made answer to anyone objecting to hymns on theological grounds if the hymn has a Nihil Obstat. In the words of Irving Berlin:
There may be trouble ahead,
But while there's music and moonlight,
And love and romance,
Let's face the music and dance.
Before the fiddlers have fled,
Before they ask us to pay the bill,
And while we still have that chance,
Let's face the music and dance.
Soon, we'll be without the moon,
Humming a different tune, and then,
There may be teardrops to shed,
So while there's music and moonlight,
And love and romance,
Let's face the music and dance.
Well it is St Valentine's Day

Surely not! I'll opt for raised eyebrows. Nearly all are welcome in the new green book.

Okay, what is, and what isn't welcome?
Has 'All are welcome' been anihilated? but not 'As I kneel before you'?

No good asking me, I don't know. All I know is that of all the items in the hymnal in question, 0.7% required a very few words to be altered and 0.2% were rejected. So 99.1% of the new edition of the hymnal received a positive assessment.

Re: Nihil Obstat
We are talking about Laudate 'Mark2'. It is not yet ready for publication and sale...I think it will be another 8 weeks before it is printed. Decani are making the changes in such a way that it will be possible, for most purposes, to combine use of the Mark 1 and Mark 2 pew editions if you need to use both - for example, my parish will soon have to buy some new pew copies to replace 'attrition losses' during the 10 years since we first bought Laudate.
There may well be a very few hymns where there are minor changes to the text from the version in 'Mark 1'. I will publish, on this forum, a list of those changes as soon as I can (or a link to where they can be found). There was a possibility that two hymns, I think, would have to be replaced completely, but they may have been new ones anyway. If that has happened, and has created a difference between Mk1 and Mk2, I will deal with that as well.
I understand that there will be no 'ban' on the use of Laudate Mk1!
