Montserrat Comes to Liverpool

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Montserrat Comes to Liverpool

Post by Nick Baty »

If you're in striking distance of Liverpool, and free at 7pm on Monday evening, come and hear the Emerald Singers from Montserrat, at St Anthony's Church, Scotland Road.

The 25 singers and instrumentalists come from Montserrat church choirs of all denominations, including Catholic, Anglican and Seventh Day Adventists. Monday's concert will be split: Gospel music in the first half and traditional West Indian folk music in the second.

Have just been to North Wales to hear them – absolutely, totally 101% superb.

Really worth catching!

Are you sure this choir is called Monster Rat? It does conjure up the most wonderful images.

Yes, there is an error in the title – will go and hide beneath the blackberry bush.

A superb evening.
The singers are off to Ireland tomorrow but will be playing Leeds West Indian Centre on 30th August. Highly recommended. Details here.
