Is anyone else finding that their Triduum rituals are being disturbed by especial consideration for those seeking membership of the Ordinariate?
I may be confused about this latest phenomenon but I am not unwelcoming. There seems to be some expectation that receptions and confirmations will take place during the Mass of the Last Supper and because the action which emanates from the Gospel is the washing of feet it cannot take its natural place after the homily. I'm not sure that this predicament will occur again as the sacraments will presumably be conferred within the Ordinariate in the future. I wonder how others are dealing with this.

This, I understand, was the original desire and plan of the Ordinariate folk, but it has, I also understand, been vetoed by the Bishops. Receptions and Confirmations will take place at the Easter Vigil along with everyone else. I am sure someone on this forum can confirm this (or not).
The idea behind it was apparently so that the Ordinariate candidates could already be full members of the Church for the Easter Triduum — why this should have been thought necessary, I do not know. After all, they're on a journey like the rest of us, even if they have been in a sense fast-tracked. Another theory says that it was not thought desirable that they should be received and confirmed at the same time as Anglicans who were coming by the normal route. Who knows?
