Music and Liturgy Issue 340

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Music and Liturgy Issue 340

Post by JW »

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading this. It has contributions from a very wide spectrum of liturgical thought. Not having attended the memorial lecture or summer school, I found the articles by Frs. Leachman & McCarth, Bishop Roche and Fr Louth very interesting (the latter especially as one of my influences is iconoclastic evangelical). The article by Peter Jones was a fascinating look behind the scenes of organising the music for a major outside event and Dr. Reid's article was a cogent explanation of how he sees the Roman Rite in 2011.

I enjoyed it very much too, particularly Paul Inwood's piece on position of choirs. However, I was a tad confused by Bishop Roche. His piece made me go :? quite a few times.

I agree that it is a good issue, covering a wide range of issues and tapping a much wider range of authors (and indeed viewpoints) than usual.
