Doxology in Children's EP

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Doxology in Children's EP

Post by docmattc »

I don't have texts to hand so can anyone tell me if the doxology in the Children's EP is different from the standard, and if so give the text?

I'm wondering if a 'non-standard' doxology I'm hearing has any basis in approved texts or is a local innovation.

All three Prayers have the standard doxology text.

When I use the Children's EP in my primary school I tend to sing the Glynn-Whitehead setting of the doxology promoted by CJM Music. The priest's text is standard, the AMEN is elaborated (Amen, we lift our hearts and voices to you... etc.) - I'm willing to allow elaboration after the Amen as not intruding into THE text.

(Having celebrated Mass in my primary on Wed morning, I passed through another classroom and was hailed to tell 6-year-olds everything I know about pirates and their lifestyle [think Pirates of the Caribbean rather than copyright theft!] ... so a quick input on how to avoid scurvy and why the toilets are close to the prow of a sailing ship... ah, the things they don't prepare you for in seminary!)

It's a close call, but I think this might be off-topic.

Why's that then Gareth? Nisi effluvia vobiscum? (The hidden meaning of why Jonah was thrown overboard?)

moving a little close to topic ....and a prayer in the Bidding Prayers for all who are held captive by pirates? .....so the 6 year-olds don't think its a glamorous occupation?
