Bloopers and Typos

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Anne wrote:I remember the sick, dead and 'anniversaries about this time' were being remembered in the Bidding Prayers, and we all prayed hard for L.Dead. The reader started laughing as she realised that this was the heading for Lately Dead - not the best time in the Mass to be laughing.

I hve also been to Masses where we have been invited to 'Pray for those sick of the Parish'

You reminded me of attending Mass in Northampton Cathedral, where the presider announced "There is a special collection today for the sick and retired priests fund ─ just the thing for those who wish their priests were a little less sick and a little more retiring."

From the introduction to this morning's mass:
In her Fiat Mary gave her consent.

So much more convenient than from her car, though.
Oops! Time to change my specs, I think. I thought Lakelark had written F-L-A-T, not F-I-A-T. I'll get my coat...

Look at the first stained glass window.

We did have to tell the parish that this is not the name of our sponsors!

There are some typos in the filenames of the icons, too: "codemnation" (something about being all demned together?) and "crucifixtion".

Nit-picking aside, though, it's a good website and looks a super church!

Yes a lovely church with beautiful artwork. Also a superb website - particularly impressed by the large number of people involved in various ministries.

A certain department store could be busy at midnight Christmas Eve, judging from the Mass list in a certain newsletter:

11.30 pm Carol Service
12.00 midnight John Lewis
