Friend or Foe

Well it does to the people who post here... dispassionate and reasoned debate, with a good deal of humour thrown in for good measure.

Friend or Foe

Post by Mithras »

I'm new here, and bring with me a lifetime's accumulated eccentricities. Viewing my profile (or, rather, other peoples') I see that I can nominate foes. What is a foe? I hope I have none here. Anyway it's too early to upset people.

Perhaps you could begin with that?

You're right, 5 o'clock would seem to be the watershed :? (see other thread!)

Its merely a feature that comes with the forum software, nothing more that this should be read into it. Treat it like that button on your remote control that you've never pressed nor know what it does.

I am feared of the Foe button.

But I have pressed all the buttons on the various three remotes that it takes to turn the telly on. Then I have to get someone a lot younger to come along and help me sort it out. This is just to switch the set on. I don't know what worries me more Global Warming, ICT, or Liturgy failing to impact on Ecomomics and Politics.
Is this off topic?

Well, I don't know what the Foe button does. Perhaps they vanish in a puff of incense. Anyway, as a mod, I must suppress any personal opinions and treat all alike, friend or foe.

As someone once said, "Love your enemies."

Have just been looking at my profile and my interpretation of the 'foes' facility is that if I list someone as a foe then their posts will not be visible to me. In one way that could be quite useful but it could mean that any post in response to my 'foe' would be visible but could read as total nonsense.

Mmmmm.

If the friend/foe feature is a worry to you, I can disable it

Maybe its availability should be disabled.

I suggest that if it has never or very rarely been used (assuming this can be checked) it should be got rid of!

These days? What a kind-hearted assumption, SC.
