Re: Only 20 hymns

.....the other Sundays an organist plays.... Rather dismissive............? sorry, it was not intended to be. I wondered how to phrase it, and did not find a good way. There are some significant advantages to having different instruments active - as some much loved hymns are more natural with one ...

Re: Only 20 hymns

The ...

Re: Instruments: Which and where?

back to the first question Have you ever used free reed instruments in church, or seen or heard them used? We had an accordion player for a while years ago, for a couple of youth Masses. -I wasn't keen. We had a melodeon and hurdy-gurdy for a wedding once: rather good. We let our son play a melodeon ...

Hymnbook recommendations?

In my large parish we currently use Laudate. We have wondered about buying the Laudate supplement for the new Mass setting etc, but have decided that handling a separate volume would be too complicated (particularly in the tight changeover between the two main Masses). We are therefore considering ...

Re: Happy Advent

The 10am Mass is child-heavy, which we always bear in mind, but such "childish-only with lots of actions" we only sing occasionally (seven times since 2004). The primary school serves more than one parish, and ...
