Re: Live-streamed liturgy: what about music?

If not Zoom ? I assume Skype etc suffer from similar issues. Is there any particular fiddling about on Zoom that is worth trying or essential? Been working on Zoom for the last three weeks. Yesterday attended three-two-hour team meetings. Straightfoward. No need to download specific software, no ...

I was wondering if any catholic composers / musicians in the UK are doing any online events, either regularly or as a one-off? Do you know of any?

Re: Live-streamed liturgy: what about music?

Zoom is incredibly unsatisfactory for live streaming, unless you are prepared to do a lot of fiddling about, although it may be better than nothing. Sound quality is not good, either. Regarding the Catholic composers in the US, be aware that some of their offerings are in the cause of self ...

Re: Live-streamed liturgy: what about music?

Hi everyone, At the moment in our parish we are publishing a running order with video sermon, readings and links to nice YouTube versions of appropriate music (hymns, Gloria etc). People are responding that they found it useful. We are going to experiment with a live streamed Mass on Zoom shortly ...

Re: Involving visitors - music of First Holy Communion

Thanks to everyone for the helpful and insightful comments. As our parish 2020 First Holy Communion programme starts shortly, I am reminded to make a note of what we actually did, having started this post in 2019. So we did do a good, welcoming booklet with as much of the music as we could (dots and ...

Re: Involving visitors - music of First Holy Communion

Thanks to organist, VML and alan29, Lots of good pointers there, thank you. I think we could do more of a run through of key responses beforehand; we don't have a tradition of animators so that would be a good innovation especially for this Mass. The PP does emphasise that it is a solemn occasion ...

Involving visitors - music of First Holy Communion

Involving visitors in the music of First Holy Communion Thinking ahead to the year’s liturgies, I wonder if anyone has some practical advice borne of experience as to how best to involve the many visitors who join us for First Holy Communion (for example grandparents, aunts and uncles) in singing j ...
