Re: Parish Website Advice

Happy new year! We built a new Parish site last year using Weebly. It's an online editor and very easy, WYSIWYG, drag and drop editing. There is a free version but we wanted to use our own URL and couldn't on the free plan so upgraded to their Starter plan, which is still very cheap and also removes ...

Re: Gloria settings

We're looking for a new one for the autumn too. We have Schutte Mass of Christ the Saviour and the Lourdes but need another, something that fits better for Christmas, Easter and other big occasions. Psallite is sometimes used for weekday solemnities but not Sundays. We've looked at the ones in the ...

Re: God so loved the world

Agreed. We used O Worship the Lord on Lent 2, Transfiguration, and it fitted nicely. It was sung at the Offertory so, even though there were no magi about, the incense of lowliness was in evidence before the end!

Re: Triduum accompaniment

Here, we will do all of Good Friday unaccompanied and a fair amount of Holy Thursday (probably from the Sanctus onwards). We tried Good Friday completely unaccompanied for the first time about three years ago, at the request of the celebrant, and it worked, despite the fairly big shift of repertoire ...

Re: Service of rededication/commission of musicians, etc

The Book of Blessings has a prayer of blessing that can be used for musicians, during Mass; the Liturgy Office reproduces it here: http://www.liturgyoffice.org.uk/Documents/Blessings.pdf
